Brent Eric Finley didn't live a secret life, but he sure wanted people to believe his wife did.
And so the Louisiana man was sentenced to more than four years in prison after it was alleged he claimed his wife was a government agent who could schedule a medical scan of victims' bodies by satellite imaging.
The lie reportedly led to more than $800,000 in payments from friends and family for some reason, money that Finley will pay for with 51 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
His wife, Stacey, was sentenced to spend 63 months in prison and both are ordered to jointly pay $873,000 in restitution.
Why don't they pass a constitutional amendment prohibiting anybody from learning anything? If it works as well as prohibition did, in five years Americans would be the smartest race of people on Earth.
